Cermony & Recption

Where you choose to get married and where you hold your reception says a lot about you. Whatever location you decide on, make sure you ask the following questions before you sign the contract:

  • What are you paying for?
  • How many guests can the place accomodate?
  • What's the refund policy?
  • How much parking is available?
  • Is there on-site catering, DJ or band?
  • What's the cost of alcaholic beverages?

Usually venue has to be booked six to twelve months before the function. For example, booking a banquet room at Casa Loma, one of the dream wedding-reception locations for many brides, should be done more than a year ahead.

The Reception is an important part of your wedding. Rehearse and familiarize yourself with the surroundings. This may avoid any embarrassment on your wedding day.

Most people do the reception in a church or the civic centre. For a budget wedding, look into service clubs, cultural and community centres where facilities are charged at affordable rates. These places usually allow you to bring your own caterer or even your own food.
